Drug Abuse Support Groups for Teens
Peer connections are crucial to recovery, especially for young people. That's why we offer drug abuse support groups for teens age 12-17, where adolescents can find encouragement, guidance, and love from others who have walked a similar path.
Sobriety support for teens
Quitting drugs, alcohol, or other high-risk behaviors is hard work, especially for teenagers who are subjected to a near constant stream of messages on a day-to-day basis from social media, entertainment outlets, and their peers.
FullCircle’s substance abuse teen groups offer a safe haven and support for teenagers struggling with drug and alcohol use.
Our no-cost drug support groups for teens are ideal for:
- Youth with substance abuse issues who need an alternative peer group to develop a new, sober lifestyle
- Teens who are participating in an Aftercare program after leaving a treatment center environment
- Teens who need to quit drugs and alcohol but don’t necessarily need a full treatment program or higher level of care
Our goal is that every teen we meet will be able to:
- Build a new peer support system that they can rely on
- Develop positive emotional coping skills to navigate life successfully without drugs
We know how challenging it can be for teens to build a sober peer support system after recovering from substance abuse, which is why we strive to create a warm and welcoming environment to support their recovery.
How our substance abuse teen groups work
All of our substance use teen groups include:
Weekly 12-step meetings
All of our groups for adolescent drug users hold 12 step meetings twice per week that are centered on topics relating to the experience of dealing with substance use disorders as a teenager. Topics focus on managing emotions without drugs, maintaining sobriety in high school, developing spiritually, and managing mental health issues.
Weekly sober social events
Our weekend sober social events are specially designed to foster a sense of community and help teens develop connections with each other.
It can be challenging for teens to form meaningful connections based on shared values and principles or find like-minded individuals who can support them on their path to recovery. That's why we offer various weekend activities to help teenagers build genuine relationships with their peers founded on honesty, compassion, and service to others.
Family component
Drug use not only affects the individual, but also their loved ones. That's why we also offer parent support groups to help parents understand substance abuse and support their teenager in their recovery program.
Recovery is not a solo journey, and our goal is to provide a supportive community every step of the way.
Experienced staff in recovery
Our experienced peer support staff are all in recovery themselves. The role of our staff is to provide guidance and support as teens navigate their journey towards sobriety. Our staff facilitates all 12 step meetings and sober weekend events and are available to make referrals to higher levels of care or therapy if needed.
