James Delaney got sober in in hometown, St. Louis, Missouri, on Sept. 5, 2015, at just 15 years old. His early experience in recovery gave him a deep sense of purpose and inspired his commitment to helping young people and families find hope.
After four years working in the recovery field, he joined the FullCircle Program in 2022, serving first as Senior Staff for the Denver 18+ Group and later for the Boulder Program before stepping into his current leadership role as Regional Program Director of Northern Colorado. In this position, James oversees the Boulder FullCircle location and the Northern Colorado program in Weld County. He leads staff development, daily operations, and community partnerships, ensuring that families and participants receive strong peer support, engaging activities, and meaningful long-term involvement.
People naturally turn to James for leadership, crisis intervention, empathy, and encouragement — and also for his ability to bring fun and connection into the recovery process. His dedicated work has taken him to Georgia, Phoenix, and Kansas City — professional experiences that have broadened his perspective and deepened his understanding of the challenges families face.
James now lives in Colorado with his wife, who also works with at-risk youth.
